An excellent antioxidant (it helps to deflect the effects of pollution), it’s also ideal for those eager to lessen the look of dark spots and the signs of sun damage while helping to supplement skin’s own defences. Brilliantly brightening, it works to promote luminosity and is crucial for collagen synthesis, supporting the manufacture of the ‘stuffing’ that’s responsible for keeping your complexion plump and supple.
Vitamin C alone on skin works a wonder, but combine Vitamin C with another skin-supporting ingredient—honey, and you have yourself a miracle, not to mention the addition of organic brown sugar for a gentle scrub and a drop of lavender oil to smooth skin and reduce inflammation.
This mask may also be even more helpful for those with acne, as honey is naturally antibacterial. Vitamin C balances the pH of the face and may reduce breakouts too, whilst the lavender is anti-inflammatory and is often recommended for acne treatments.
1 Tsp raw manuka honey or organic honey
1/2 Tsp organic brown sugar (or regular sugar but it is more abrasive)
Sprinkle of nutmeg
1/2 Tsp vitamin C powder (natural source) or fresh squeezed lemon juice
2 Drops of high quality lavender essential oil
Combine the ingredients
Apply onto face in light circular motions
Leave on for between 10-30 minutes
Rinse off and apply your preferred toner
